Cruise Ships
Grand Cayman allows a maximum of 6,000 visitors by cruise ship daily, which means there are can be as many as three or four ships in port. As Grand Cayman is one of the most popular ports of call in the Caribbean, most days we have at least one ship in port. The cruise lines most frequently seen calling in the Cayman Islands include Carnival, Celebrity Cruise Lines, Costa, Crown Commodore Cruises, Crystal Cruises, Cunard, Dolphin, Holland America, International Maritime Resources, Mutiway, Norwegian Crown, Premier Cruise Line, Princess Cruises, Regal, Royal Caribbean and Sun Line.

All ships call at the capital of George Town, in Grand Cayman. As there is no cruise ship dock, all ships anchor off shore and visitors are brought ashore by tenders. When they arrive in George Town, passengers are right in the centre of Grand Cayman's excellent shopping district. A wide variety of restaurants are also within a two to ten minute walk from the terminal.

Whilst on board the cruise ship, passengers are given a listing of the wide range of available activities to do during their day in Grand Cayman. Many activities are pre-booked, such as a unique submarine dive, or a trip to the world's only Turtle Farm. Buses will be waiting at the North or South terminal for those on pre-booked excursions. For those wanting to do their own thing, taxis are available as soon as you disembark. The average cost of a taxi, per hour, is US$37.50 for four persons for island tours (subject to change). A short Taxi ride will take you to our fabulous 'Seven Mile Beach' for sunbathing and snorkelling. Taxi fare is approximately US$4 per person each way to hotels accommodating cruise business (subject to change).

There is an alternate anchorage at Spotts on the south coast of Grand Cayman In the event of rough seas on the west coast, which is about a 10-minute taxi ride from George Town. It is advisable to take a taxi from this port, as apart from a small cove at Spotts Beach, there are no shops or restaurants within walking distance.

Gambling is illegal here, so there are no Casinos in the Cayman Islands. This includes cruise ship visits, as no gambling operations are permitted within Cayman territorial waters.
